Meet Ron Oakes

Co-Owner at OakPine Kitchens

Ron opened Burlington's first kitchen and bath showroom in 1974. Throughout five decades he has designed cabinetry for thousands of custom homes and condominium developments across Burlington, Hamilton, Oakville and beyond, with a commitment to Canadian craftsmanship.

Ron Oakes is a foundational name in Burlington’s design community and the Co-Owner of OakPine Kitchens. His career is built on a 50-year legacy as the visionary who opened Burlington’s original kitchen and bath showroom in 1974 – establishing an address for quality and craftsmanship that endures to this day.

Shortly after, in 1977, Ron founded the first National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) chapter in Canada, bringing together other professionals to raise the bar for the industry. Notably, he was the first Canadian to win the US National Kitchen & Bath Design Competition, underscoring his leadership and innovation in the field. His work has been featured in numerous industry publications over the years.

Much of his success has been earned through innovation and a willingness to lead market trends rather than follow them. Ron continues to seek out and develop new products and materials well ahead of the curve. Made in Canada has been a life-long mandate. Supporting domestic sources has never been a marketing line – it’s a principle.

For over five decades, Ron has been the Halton region’s most trusted expert in cabinetry design. As the visionary behind Burlington’s longest-established kitchen firm, he has personally designed and provided all forms of cabinetry for thousands of custom single-family residences and large-scale condominium developments.

While his roots are firmly planted in the Halton area, Ron’s reputation for beautifully engineered kitchens has earned him an international clientele. His portfolio extends across Canada and the United States, with signature kitchens in New York, Florida, California, and Hawaii. His work is also featured in luxury properties in Turks and Caicos, Mexico, and as far as Guam – from private custom homes to large multi-unit developments, his expertise has been sought-after from Wilshire Boulevard to the Caribbean.

Today, Ron brings this unparalleled global experience, built on a foundation of local trust, to OakPine Kitchens. This business is the culmination of his life’s work, blending his time-tested, world-class expertise with a fresh, collaborative approach. For Ron, the true measure of success remains the same: countless satisfied clients who live, gather, and create memories in the beautiful, functional, and timeless kitchens he designed.

Beyond his professional achievements, Ron has long been a committed community supporter, consistently operating as a cause-related business and integrating social responsibility into every operation.
